Hi! My name is Derek Galon,
a photographer & videographer for those who need top work.

Born in Poland, I studied  music, arts and photography. My  first photo job came at age of 14, and my first solo exhibition at age of 16. I have vast photography experience supported by knowledge of arts and decades of creative work.

After living for 27 years in Canada, I decided to relocate to Dominica, Eastern Caribbean, which I now call my home.  I earned several prestigious titles and distinctions such as Fellowship of Royal Photographic Society (UK), won dozens of international awards, sat as a juror of top  photography competitions, co-managed photography books publishing house Ozone Zone Books,  created 3-D animated holograms, organized workshops and competitions. To say it simply – my work is my passion. I am glad to share my knowledge and teach.  I am also a videographer creating short documentary films, stock video, music videos, filming nature and working with various producers.

My works were used by  International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN),  NatGeo, CNN, World Peace Organization, Phaidon Press, Virgin Atlantic, Sotheby’s, MACO Caribbean Living, Toronto Star, Hyundai/Fomex, WestJet Magazine, and YellowPages, BBC – to name a few (very few).

I  am a Getty/iStock contributor and have a large library of stock images (mostly Caribbean, but not only). My nature photography and video can be found at Nature Picture Library (UK) – a world’s leading stock agent specializing in the finest nature imagery. All my stock images and video are also available directly from me (best deal).

I also created recently my Youtube  channel to share the beauty of Dominica (nicknamed the Nature Island), offer you photography tips, and also to comment on photo/video equipment I use. See my Youtube channel here.
